Via BBC - Ted Howard, 82, composed nearly 100 letters to his wife, Molly, during the years he spent travelling Europe as a farm worker. When his wife caught someone reading them, she tore them up out of embarrassment. So Ted spent the last 15 years piecing 2,000 fragments back together. More here.
